EIT Food Grow Workshops: registrations open for regenerative agriculture workshops

The EIT Food Grow Workshops are returning to Portugal. Every Friday during July, from 9 am to 12.30 pm, emerging trends and technologies in the field of sustainable and regenerative agriculture will be discussed. Farmers, producers, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and anyone interested in this topic can now register free of charge for these training sessions via the initiative's website.

The Grow Workshops are a set of five pieces of training created by the largest European food innovation community - EIT Food - to rethink the practices and techniques currently used in the fields, explore the role of soil, and investigate new business models based on new technologies. By attending these training, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, resources, and tools that will help them optimize their agricultural businesses: they will learn how to reverse the negative effects of unsustainable farming practices, how to take advantage of new techniques and technologies to make their businesses profitable and they will also have the opportunity to network within the European sustainability ecosystem.

After the success of the previous edition, which had more than 500 participants, for the second consecutive year, the organization of this initiative is in charge of the collaborative laboratory of Idanha-a-Nova, Food4Sustainability CoLAB, BGI and partners Lund University and Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). According to Food4Sustainability, "challenging times require courageous and mobilizing actions. To support the primary sector for the transition to more resilient, healthy, and safe food systems, we are launching a dialogue at the European level for the Portuguese farming community to be included in the European level dialogues those of the European Ecological Pact and, specifically, in the action "Farm to Fork".

The sessions will start on July 1 and will take place in person every Friday of the month, in different locations around the country: Montemor-o-Novo, Golegã, Lourinhã, Torres Novas, and Idanha-a-Nova. All information regarding the workshops and registration forms is available here.
