The POMATO project (Effective management strategies to tackle Clavibacter sepedonicus and Ralstonia solanacearum outbreaks on POtato and toMATO crops) wants to address the growing threat of bacterial diseases affecting vital horticultural crops, aiming to minimize crops losses and enhance sustainability across agricultural systems in Europe and Latin America. POMATO specifically targets Clavibacter sepedonicus and Ralstonia solanacearum, two bacterial pathogens threatening solanaceous crops. Field trials and validation activities will take place in both greenhouses and naturally infected fields, ensuring the solutions are scalable and adaptable to diverse climatic and agricultural conditions.
The POMATO project is now launching a stakeholder information survey to map and connect key actors working along the tomato and potato value chains, from production to processing, distribution, policy, industry, research, civil society, and consumers. The aim is to build a comprehensive database that will support co-creation activities, pilot actions and knowledge exchange throughout the project’s lifetime.
By filling out the survey, interested stakeholders can express their areas of expertise, interests and needs, and indicate how they would like to be involved in future POMATO activities, such as webinars, workshops, field days, or policy dialogues. This will help the project team identify relevant profiles, design tailored engagement activities and ensure that different perspectives are represented in the project’s work.
Participation in the survey is voluntary, and the information collected will be treated confidentially and in line with data protection regulations. The survey can be accessed here - POMATO - Stakeholder Information Form – Fill out form
