Promoting inclusion and the transfer of knowledge and intercultural traditions through the creation of salads
Food4Sustainability is a partner in the In-Salads project, an Erasmus+ project whose main aim is to promote sustainable food and healthy nutrition by training adults in a process of cultural exchange facilitated by the use of digital tools. Coordinated by the Udine Provincial Adult Education Centre (CPIA, Italy), In-Salads has European partners including Food4Sustainability (F4S, Portugal), the Association of Popular Universities of Extremadura (AUPEX, Spain), the Institution for Adult Education (DANTE, Croatia) and the European Finance International Academy (EGInA, Italy).
Lasting one year, this project will address crucial issues such as environmental sustainability by promoting digital skills, using storytelling as the main method for education and awareness-raising. The main aim is to sensitise participants to the importance of food sustainability and healthy eating, and to promote cultural exchange by sharing traditional salad recipes.
The project kick-off meeting took place on 1 and 2 February in Udine, Italy, and served to establish the project's objectives and resolve doubts between the partners from Croatia, Italy, Spain and Portugal. As well as working on strategies for co-operation, dissemination and project management, the topics of sustainability, intercultural exchange and digital challenges were discussed.
The project's activities began in March 2024 and include a training of trainers in healthy and sustainable food, organised by Food4Sustainability, and digital storytelling and video production, organised by partner EGInA. Subsequently, each partner will organise local activities to promote these themes, with a focus on creating intercultural salads as a tool for inclusion and the transfer of knowledge and intercultural traditions.
The In-Salads project is a KA210 project - Small-scale partnerships for adult education, funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme.
