OakFood at AGROVOUGA - Aveiro

The OakFood project was present with its Roll Up and the distribution of a flyer at the AGROVOUGA agricultural fair, which took place between 15th and 24th November 2024.

AGROVOUGA, held at the Aveiro Fair and Exhibition Centre, was another opportunity to contact and meet producers who are interested in making the most of the acorns from their oak, cork and holm oak trees.

One of the aims of the OakFood project is to create a network of acorn producers that guarantees adequate supply capacity to meet demand and, on the other hand, a market that guarantees remunerative prices for all the players involved.

This event took place close to 10 November, when World Acorn Day was celebrated, with a large number of events taking place across the country, organised by a wide variety of players, including local authorities, associations and many others.

The main aim of this day is to raise awareness of the importance of acorns as a valuable natural resource, and of the species that give rise to them, for biodiversity and forest ecosystems, especially in Mediterranean regions.
