The InnovPlanet Summer School is a free course sponsored by the largest European food innovation network, EIT Food, and hosted by BGI - Building Global Innovators, Food4Sustainability CoLAB, Lund University and University of Beira Interior.
The InnovPlanet Summer School is aimed at graduates, master and doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers, young professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs working in the agrifood sector. During 3 weeks, this free course will enable you to develop entrepreneurial skills and acquire knowledge about sustainable agriculture and targeted nutrition to create an innovative product. Between July 4 and 15, online content will be presented, and the best performing students will have the opportunity to attend the third week of the course (July 25-29, in Portugal, traveling is facultative).
With this course you will develop your knowledge of sustainable agriculture and innovative farming practices, linking the role of soil health to targeted nutrition for better health and wellbeing. This course will provide you with all the necessary tools to become an effective innovator in the food system from conception to the development of business ideas, through business self-efficacy, team building, market research, risk analysis, negotiation, pitching, among others. At the end, you will apply your knowledge of sustainable agriculture and nutrition to innovate products or techniques that have an impact on the food system.

The Food4Sustainability (F4S) CoLAB is a collaborative lab located in Portugal that aims to solve large-scale problems in biological food systems (e.g., food, fish, algae, vegetables) for climate resilience. The F4S CoLAB is at the forefront of the shift from linear agri-food production processes to circular processes. The aim of F4S CoLAB is to test and implement new approaches in food production systems that positively impact: CO2 mitigation, no use of chemicals, sustainable intensification (maximising land use), preservation of water bodies and environmental impact, and increased efficiency in the food value chain.
